Forever in the range of things to do,

Whenever a thought comes to you,

Sift that thought as sifters do,

Separating what’s right from what’s wrong for you.

Look upon what you think as an unholy thing.

Sift, redirect, compare against known, agree

With what you know the Lord has shown you.

Never let escape thoughts you

Have not compared with holy things.

Your job as man of God, priest,

Is from the profane to bring

Forth that which is God’s, holy.

Know, man of God, what is given you.

Weed out what the heart calls truth.

Trust not in your understanding.

Make God, above all, the only thing

Given to the world from you.

All you have is vile. All is from you

Not worth a thing.
